art installation

In June, I installed a group of paintings for Shawn Demarest that she painted for the main entrance of the River East Building.

The wall was painted in two tones to match the horizon-line of the paintings.

I built the panels for her with double French cleats on the back, registering them carefully during construction so that install would be as easy as possible.

The results! Shawn’s work beautifully describes variables in weather conditions/ times of day in a specific place.

I get an unusual satisfaction from doing the unseen work. If I’ve done my job well, no one will give a thought to the substrates. The paintings speak for themselves.
